PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Baysilone DHS TP 3877 Silicone Textile Enhancer concentrate is designed as a textile-finishing agent where Durable Hydrophilic Softness is desired. It can easily be emulsified to stable micro emulsions. The textile industry almost exclusively employs aqueous application techniques. Thus, micro-emulsions with all concentrations required in the textile industry can be formulated. The emulsion can be added to other textile finishing agents as required and diluted as necessary.

KEY PERFORMANCE PROPERTIES:

• Fabrics treated with Baysilone DHS TP 3877 exhibit a light, natural softness as opposed to a greasy or slick feel.
• The finish proved a moderate durability to laundering, where best results were obtained on natural fibers.
• Its cationicity allows this product to excel in exhaust applications.
• The product is easy to emulsify and allows the formulation of temperature and shear stable micro emulsions.
• Good hydrophilicity, combined with enhanced fiber elasticity and shape recovery without yellowing can bel achieved.

 

APPLICATION:

Once properly emulsified, Baysilone DHS TP 3877 can be applied as a finish by itself or in combination with other finishing agents. It may be applied by padding techniques or by exhaustion. Application with Jet-Technique is no longer a risk. The bath is stable under typical processing conditions. Tested with LabJumboJet from Mathis, bath 1:10 in water at 40°C for 20 min with a pump performance of 6 I / min. proposed application concentration is between 1 — 3 % silicone content. The 1 — 3 % bath can be easily adjusted by simple mixing of the formulation with water. The optimum treatment will depend on the required softness of the fabric or yarn after dyeing and rinsing. The use of 0.25 to 0.50% of silicone active BOWF is recommended. Application can be done by pad-dry-cure, exhaustion or garment washing process. However, due to the quat functionality of Baysilone DHS TP 3877 it will perform best in exhaust applications, see performance overview in table 2.

Magnasoft SRS-70 textile softener is a novel (AB)n linear, polydimethylsiloxane-amino polyalkyleneoxide polyether block copolymer. Magnasoft SRS-70 textile softener is designed to provide soft, silky, full hand to fabrics treated with fluorocarbon soil release additives, while incurring little or no interference with the soil release properties. The softening properties that are provided by Magnasoft SRS-70 textile softener are durable for numerous detergent washes.

The use of Magnasoft 5R5-70 textile softener imparts superior softness and very low yellowing compared to conventional amino silicones when applied to a wide variety of fabrics, including 100% cotton knits and wovens, synthetics and cotton/synthetic blends. In addition, fabrics treated with Magnasoft SR5-70 textile softener are not hydrophobic. Magnasoft 5R5-70 textile softener imparts a slow wetting durable hydrophilic character to fabrics.

Magnasoft TLC softener is a water-soluble organo modified silicone fluid designed to impart softness and hydrophilicity to a variety of woven and nonwoven fabrics. Substrates to which Magnasoft TLC softener has been successfully applied are 100% synthetics, such as polyester, polypropylene, and polyethylene, as well as a variety of polyester/cotton blends.

Magnasoft TLC softener is nonionic in nature and, therefore, compatible with a broad range of other formulating components with which it might be used. In addition, Magnasoft TLC softener increases the tear strength and flex abrasion properties of certain fabrics.

Magnasoft TLC softener markedly improves the hydrophilicity of hydrophobic substrates and does not interfere with the wettability of hydrophilic substrates. With only limited durability, Magnasoft TLC softener is suggested primarily for single-use or limited-life products.

Testing has shown that Magnasoft HSSD hydrophilic textile softener provides superior softening, hydrophilicity, and non-yellowing properties compared to competitive hydrophilic products.

Magnasoft SiIQ textile enhancer is part of our prestigious line of textile enhancers, which includes such world-known grades as Magnasoft SRS and Magnasoft DerMa NT. Magnasoft SilQ textile enhancer is a linear, non-reactive, high molecular weight quaternary aminosilicone polymer with the various components having been carefully engineered to meet strict performance requirements.

Magnasoft SiIQ textile enhancer can deliver a luxuriously soft and flexible hand feel to most types of cellulosic, regenerated cellulosic and cellulosic blends of fabrics and garments. This typically is further enhanced by a deep, voluminous and smooth softness that is not usually associated with silicone materials.

Fabrics treated with Magnasoft SilQ textile enhancer typically are hydrophilic and, remarkably, retain hydrophilicity even after high temperature dry/cure conditions as well as on ageing of the fabric.

Though Magnasoft SilQ textile enhancer is easily dispersible in water in the presence of certain emulsifiers, its affinity for the fiber surface is such that it largely remains on the fabric even after repeated home laundry cycles.

Emulsions of Magnasoft SilQ textile enhancer have exhibited outstanding shear stability and low yellowing at extremes of pH and temperature in tests conducted in our laboratories. As a result, Magnasoft SilQ textile enhancer may be applied onto fabrics using most types of finishing equipment, including high speed padding, kiss rolls, exhaustion, jet finishing and others.

HOW TO APPLY:

SM 1522 can be applied either by padding or exhaustion.

Padding process:

• Dosage as received : 10-20 g/l
• pH : 4.5-6.5
• Temp. : Ambient
• Drying & Curing : 100 ºC

Exhaustion process:

 

Dosage as received : 1-2 % on the weight of fabric
Liquor ratio : 1:8 or 1:10
pH : 4.5-6.5
Temp. : Ambient
Time : 20 min
Drying : 100 ºC

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

• Fill washing machine by water. Run for 2 min
• Add fabrics in to the washing machine. Run for 2 min
• Adjust the pH of bath (4.5 – 6.5) by acetic acid.
• In separate beaker dilute SM 1522 with water. Filter with cloth
• Add in to the bath. Run for 20 min

 

DILUTION PROCEDURE:

• Add SM 1522 in to the beaker. Mix with the help of glass rod.
• Add water under slow and constant stirring. Mix uniformly
• Filter with the help of cloth if required.

 

TSF4703 is an amino modified silicone fluid developed for textile softener use. It can be easily emulsified to a stable micro emulsion, which gives durable softness and smoothness to cotton, blending cotton woven fabrics and knitted products.

Physical Properties:

Application - Textile:

• SF 4901 has proven to be suitable for softening of cotton, silk, wool, polyester, PV blends, cotton fabrics and Acrylics. This offers durable softening and enhances lustre.
• SF 4901 is evaluated on a variety of fabrics including 65/35 polyester /cotton broad cloth, 100% intcloth, 83/17carduroy, 50/50 poleyester cotton tubular knit and 100% heat set polyester

Typical Emulsion:

Emulsification:

• Charge SF4901 into the reactor. Mix for 10 min
• Add Butyl carbitol mix and TDA6 mix for 20 min
• Add acetic acid, viscous grease will form.Mix for 20 min.
• Add water under slow and constant speed @ 60 min.
• Clear emulsion will form.

Storage: SF 4901 can be stored for approx. 6 months at temperatures between 0° C and 50° C. It must be protected against frost during storage.
