Momentive Performance Materials Silicones SM8470N is a micro emulsion of amino silicone fluid for textile and garment finishing to get a rich and durable softness.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Application:

• SM 8470N is typically applied by exhaustion,padding, spraying or by any other methods.
• SM 8470N is sold in concentrated form and can be diluted with water for use. The optimum conditions of dilution should be defined by trial and error.

Padding:

• SM 8470N may be applied by padding under the following conditions

Dosage : 2-4 gm/lit
pH :5.0 – 6.0
1. Pass the fabric through the mangle with a wet pickup of 70-80%.
2. Dry the fabric at 100°C for 5 min.After drying, cure the fabric at 150°C for 5 min.

Exhaustion: SM 8470N can also be applied by exhaustion at the following conditions
Temperature :45-50°C
Time : 20-30 min
pH : 5.0-6.0
Curing : 75-80°C for 20 min
Dosage : 0.2 – 0.4% OWF

HANDLING SUGGESTIONS:

Silicone emulsions are compatible with many organic additives. However, certain materials may break the silicone emulsion. It is recommended that any mixture of silicone emulsions with other materials be thoroughly checked before it is put into factory production.

STORAGE WARRANTY PERIOD:

The warranty period is 6 months from the date of shipment, if stored in the original unopened container at 4 to 32 °C.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

• Fill washing machine by water. Run for 2 min
• Add fabrics in to the washing machine. Run for 2 min
• Adjust the pH of bath (4.5 – 6.5) by acetic acid.
• In separate beaker dilute Velvet Soft SS with water. Filter with cloth Add in to the bath. Run for 20 min

DILUTION PROCEDURE:

• Add Velvet Soft SS in to the beaker. Mix with the help of glass rod.
• Add water under slow and constant stirring. Mix uniformly
• Filter with the help of cloth if required

STORAGE AND HANDLING:

To ensure that the product quality is maintained, the container should be tightly sealed when not in use. Store at normal room temperature, and prevent prolonged exposure to extreme heat or freezing conditions, which may cause product separation. If separation does occur, thaw if frozen, stir the contents, and use in the normal manner.

Application:

MAGNASOFT 110 textile softener is intended for use in textile finishing as a premium softener for all types of fabrics such as cotton, synthetics and cotton/synthetic blends. It is a very effective softener for use in wrinkle-free garments that are treated with durable press resin and fluorocarbon soil release agents. It is also a superior softener for knit and woven fabrics, including those that are durable press resin-treated.

Since MAGNASOFT 110 textile softener does not require emulsification, its water dilutions have excellent shear stability. Therefore, it is an excellent softener for applications where normal, emulsified softeners do not show adequate shear stability such as in EVAC systems.

MAGNASOFT 110 textile softener is normally applied as a water dilution that is blended into the treatment bath formulation to provide the desired silicone add-on.

Pad bath:

Potential Applications:

The diluted Magnasoft 707 textile softener can be applied by most padding or exhaustion finishing processes, as well
as garment washing processes, and may be considered for.

Use with the following types of fabric:

• Cotton and cotton blends woven and knit requiring excellent stretch-recovery
• Cotton denim and corduroy
• Viscose rayon and acetate fabrics
• Cotton/Spandex and Nylon/Spandex blended fabrics
• Polyester artificial fur fabric used in soft toys, etc.

General Instructions for Use:

Magnasoft 707 textile softener is provided in a ready-to-use high solids content form that can be applied as received.
Because of the high solids content, it is advisable to dilute 30 parts of Magnasoft 707 textile softener with 70 parts
water prior to application in the textile finish bath.
